MO-River ramble
The mo-river ramble Is not a race, it is a ramble! The Idea: The Mo River Ramble is just That: A ramble. It is NOT a race, The ramble is a paddling event to bring the Missouri paddling community together. Whether you are getting ready for the MR340 and want to test your boat, equipment, or partner. Or you are newer to paddling on Big rivers and want a safe and encouraging group of people to be with on the river, this is your event. The Paddle: A Gorgeous 26 miles of paddling on the Missouri River that will take anywhere from 4-7 hours of paddling. Make sure you are capable of that length of paddling. We will launch from Jeff city from Joe Wilson’s serenity point and paddle down 13 miles to Weenie Roast Island. Yep, we will roast weenies on a sand bar. Proceeds go to the Chamois Fire Department. We then paddle to the Chamois boat ramp. This gives less experienced paddlers the opportunity to paddle with more experienced paddlers. It’s a community paddle. The post paddle: The Town of Chamois is having a barbecue cook off that day. WIth your registration fee you will receive a meal ticket that gets you a free barbecue meal. Your ticket counts as a vote for your favorite cooker. We will plan to camp at the park for this event. So it will be an evening of food, music, story telling, raffles and camping. Again, this is an event for the community, both paddling and the city of chamois. Please help build it. |
